Ethiopian Boeing 787 cracked windshield, diverts to Rome.

An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-800, registration ET-AOO performing flight ET-500 from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to Washington Dulles,DC (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 150nm northwest of Rome when the right hand windscreen cracked promting the crew to return to Rome. The aircraft dumped fuel and landed safely at Fiumicino Airport about 75 minutes later. (avherald.com) More...

I've noted that the 787 only has 4 windshield panels while the A350 has 6, presumably for a similar total window area. I wonder if larger panels make them more prone to cracking?
