I remember times when there was a total outage of a reservation/ticketing system, and it was chaotic..i also remember the days when airline agents could and would hand write tickets, and there actually were large books at the end of the counter to look up point to point fares and taxes..when everything became computerized, including the systems onboard aircraft,an outage was a really big thing..we had the SABRE system..it appears as though some things never change!!!
