The headline should be WestJet leaves runway a MT airport in heavy rain. The cause has yet to be determined.

Sure. What's your point?

My point is that I did state quite clearly that the text is in French, but that the photos speak for themselves. TVA was the first news outfit to show pictures. Normally I don't bother with TVA, they are, for my taste, too much of the blood & gore school of journalism. (No, I'm not talking about Al Gore.)

So, if you are allergic to French, you were warned about the presence of this language and could have avoided it. If you did click on the thread, you must have noticed that there are links to info in English, provided by SwissCyul and me.

SwissCyul posted his squawk only two minutes after mine, and it was immediately merged with this thread. I find it unfair to him (or her) that his squawk was labeled as duplicate, in this instance it was more simultaneously than anything else. Maybe there should be a label called "simultaneous".

Pretty sure it won't be a hull loss

According to people on the scene there was no visible damage. Seems they simply skidded in the grass at the end of the runway, for about 50 feet.

Grass and dirt the original EMAS beds

Good to see everyone is okay after this bit of mudding.

Westjet 737 runway excursion in Montreal due to heavy rainfall!

A Westjet Boeing 737-6CT suffered a runway excursion in Montreal during landing. The flight was inbound from Toronto and landed on runway 24 left. At the time of the excursion there were heavy rain showers and mist around the airport causing poor visibility.
