Nobody wants a mechanical issue over the Pacific, in an aircraft which requires serious runway length...and suffers a multiple birdstrike below 500' and that results in flap damage. This was no joke folks and kudos to the crew.

They kept the passengers on board until another plane came from Japan, and then had them change planes.... good grief, Charlie Brown, that is cruel and inhuman treatment of passengers.... oh, this was Delta, never mind, abuse of passengers is normal operating procedure.
