BAD experience: Good service for years until yesterday! Flew in around 3:10PM but the restaurant just closed. Wanted to grab a quick bite to eat up the street. Went to FBO for gas and courtesy car. Now he wants $20 in RENTAL FEES for the "courtesy" car. Next they'll be charging to park on the ramp to eat..maybe a eating utensil tax..... BTW, I didn't get gas. I will go over to Monroe KTTF for $.25 cheaper, at $4.25gal..at least they are not gouging yet. Guess I expected too much. Flew into Lapeer D95 a few days before. Borrowed mechanic Ben's car for 3.5hrs, no FEES asked! I donated $20 and topped off my tanks at $4.53 gal. I am not cheap nor expect services for free but I am tired of these airport people gouging pilots by inventing all these ramp fees, landing fees, tiedown fees, tower fees, fence fees, and adding $1-2 to every gallon for profit. These are PUBLIC airports. This is general aviation, not Air Force One. Piper Cherokee |
