ZS-SPA was SAA’s 1st 747SP, on her delivery she set a world record non-stop flight from Paine Field to Cape Town, taking 17 hours 22 minutes and it still had enough onboard fuel for an additional 2 hours 27 minutes flying, a record that stood for 17 years.
