Whoaaa!! An entire field of DC-3s??? I get super stoked when I get to see ONE, and here's a field full of them!!! Cool or what!!! I was honored to be offered a most memorable flight on a DC-3 just last summer, and I was also permitted to invite seven guests. We had a fantabulous flight -- over Lake Tahoe and a bit beyond. Does/Do the owner/s of these permit folks to go inside?? Any other old classics propliners here? Many, many Thanx for sharing this click, Ken. A "fiver" shot for sure.

Gary.......

Thanks for your very fine comments on the pic. What an awesome experience you had to be up in one of those old birds.

Before the hurricanes and earthquakes San Juan P.R. had many DC-3s on the field. They have been robust, reliable airframes for both short haul freight and passenger service in the Caribbean

A Mentor .... I noticed you began your comment "Before the hurricanes and earthquakes ... ." Does that mean that some, many, or all were damaged or destroyed; or were you meaning you had observed 'many' DC-3s there at some time in the past? Just curious ....

fact is haven't been in San Juan in 10 years which predates all the disasters there. Status of the DC-3 fleet is unverifiable by me; just they were there and exciting to see on the tarmac .

Ah, understood. Appreciate the reply. I can understand your excitement seeing them. Hopefully the old birds have survived Mother Nature and Father Time.

yeah, really bummed out I could not get to the parkway perpendicular to the taxi way as it was 1/2 distance back to the gate. Must have been 8-10 operators with birds awaiting next takeoff. Sure would like to revisit.
