YAKOVLEV Yak-18T (ФΛΑ01042)

August 1992, we had some flights from Khodynka Aerodrome (Ходынский аэродром) and so I could made this picture of this Yakovlev Yak-18T over Moscow. My plane was an Antonov AN-2. This Airport also known as Frunze Central Aerodrome is closed now, so it has none airport code

Thank you this photo. This is an aircraft that is not seen in the States much. I always enjoy seeing new aircraft, regardless of their age or the age of the photo.

@Alan: this is one of my favorite pictures. In Europe we are near to russia and so we see inevitably some russian planes. But for this picture I was in Moscow and found some really friendly people who made some special flights for us to made our photographers dreams through. Sometimes only for a box of Marlboro Cigarettes.

jobeard: you're welcome

Typically solid-looking Russian build. Probably an M14 engine with the usual problems with engine-cooling gills.
Nice shot.

@ John & John: To my knowledge it is an M14 Engine. But i was only passenger, cooling problems are not mine. But it was really solid russinan work. You cannot destroy it with an swiss army knife. I have seen there a lot of other russian planes, they dont't have really up to date avionics but they are solid as a rock.
