Arrived in midafternoon from KNZY (Halsey Field). Caused quite a bit of instant interest when it flew over the airport prior to landing. Passing motorists pulled over to the shoulders of both Mill St (north end of airport) and Peckham Lane (south end of airport).

G'day Gary, love the pic. Must have an interesting sound with that number of prop blades.

Gary... thanks for sharing this C-2 Greyhound with us!!! The stout build and robust design of the landing gear is quite evident on this Grumman made Navy a/c... :-)

Hey, Cliff! Howdy. And TYVM for commenting. Sure 'nuff; the gear was indeed built to endure some hard and heavy encounters with bouncing carrier decks, rather swift accelerations, and VERY "sudden stops." (Thumbs Up)

Gary... You are very welcome... and "exactly" correct regarding that gear design and construction...!!!

It slices, it dices, it juliennes! Get the Ginsu Fly-O-Matic, and kiss kitchen drudgery, and your arms goodbye!

I remember watching a documentary on the move to more blades, and some installations, sweeping back the tips. Made sense. Another advantage of computers and 3d modeling.
