The training exercise scenario was that a US Navy fighter jet had been shot down and the pilot had ejected into a large, deep, and cold lake. Two Navy Seahawks had arrived to rescue the pilot and as 73 hovered to pluck the naval aviator from the water, the second helicopter provided air cover and defensive weapons fire at "enemy" personnel who were attempting to capture the pilot.

The US Coast Guard also participated in the exercise.

My most grateful Thanks to the US Navy personnel who invited me to photograph the day-long activity.

TYVM, Chris. A "closer-up" shot showing the pilot in a stretcher along with the medic being brought up is on its way to you and all e/m recipients. Sending now. (Wave)

Cheers Gary! I've been a bit distracted these past couple of days with my driving "upgrade" training!
