It looks like quite a severe fire ensued, looking at the cockpit damage. KCAK sadly also suffered the loss of a Hawker 700A on final approach, not too far short of the airport, a bit more than a year ago...

It's often said that any landing you can walk away from is a "good landing"... and that might well be. Albeit, the pilot and aircraft owner of this hapless Mooney might be quick to disagree!!!

Chris. This photo was from 2011. I just got around to uploading it. The Hawker you are talking about was actually on approach to AKR the other Akron airport. I drive past the accident scene at least once a month
