Why is this an under average photo?

Want to thank the 4 voters so far which indicates a below average photo. You really don't have a clue to this nice photo.

I hate to break this to you, warmwynds (whoever you are), but if you don't know why this is an "under average" photo then me trying to explain it to you won't do any good. Plus, it would take too long. You do have some pretty good shots posted, but this isn't one of them. Do yourself a favor and study up on photography and/or take some classes on it.

Greg......thanks for the comment. This photo is of a facility that has private and occasional business jet. There attraction is the skydiving. There are some folks mingling in the shadows who were interested. The only plane in the photo is the one that the skydivers up. There is no control tower and they operate out of the office inside. From where I was standing the Flag caught my attention then the building and the plane squeezed in for the photo framing. Of all the photo's posted on Flightaware I probably have the only one like this. So it can't be compared or have a standard to judge it by. Poor or great it just comes down to someone's opinion. Yours does count but as a nice photo of what this facility is all about I don't believe anyone there would say it's a poor shot. The other side of this building is not the better side to photograph.

Okay, I wasn't going to go into detail so let me just say that the main reason this isn't more than an average photo (at best) has nothing to do with aviation, or what they do at Pennridge Airport, or whether there is an airplane in the picture. What happens there can't be seen in this photo, nor can what the people are doing or have done. All the viewer knows is what they see, and this is not a very well composed photo to show off the building, the flag and how it contrasts with the blue sky. That being said, the building needs to fill much more of the frame for starters. But, I wasn't there so I'm not sure what else you could/should have done to make it stand out more. As it is though, I think of it as a pretty good snapshot of the building that probably has some meaning to you, but to very few other people. As I stated before, you have posted some nice photos, but this one is (for me) pretty easy to forget. Don't give up, and keep looking at sites like this one to get an idea of what elements make up above average photos whether they are aviation shots, or not. Oh, and I am currently using a Canon EOS 6D.
