Airbus A319 (D-AKNR) - Germanwings (4U) D-AKNR A319-112 [cn1209]br /Düsseldorf (DUS). Parked on the ramp this Eurowings (EW) aircraft still wears Germanwings livery. Germanwings was created in 1997 as a low cost arm of Eurowings, itself a short-haul spin-off from parent Lufthansa (LH). In 2015 the Germanwings brand was dropped and the fleet re-integrated into Eurowings. A major factor influencing this rebranding was the publicity around Germanwings flight 4U9525 on 24th March 2015 which crashed in France with the loss of 150 lives. The co-pilot, suffering from depression, had intentionally caused the crash.br /Taken from the Terminal.br /2018 08 09br /a rel=nofollow href=http://alphayankee.smugmug.com/Airlines-and-Airliners-Portfolio/Airlines/EuropeanAirlines/Germanwings-4U/https://alphayankee.smugmug.com/Airlines-and-Airliners-Portfolio/Airlines/EuropeanAirlines/Germanwings-4U//a
