This is not going to "FLY"! Delta, Southwest, and Virgin America have already bailed out on the idea and most likely, many will follow. 99.5% of passengers don't want it. Even the FCC chairman opposes it and yet he approved it. It's all up to the Airline if they want to pursue this calamity of errors.
Irresponsible behavior, common sense or just trying to get blood out a turnip! I don't feel this guy deserves any compensation. Own up to your sleeping habit and don't blame the airline personel for your lack of responsibility. Crew members are not on board to hold your hand!
Earthquake or not...I, personally don't think the landing...if you want to call it that, maybe an out of controlled crash?...would have made a difference in the outcome. If the "seawall" wasn't there, they would have most likely put the bird in the bay. Really? There were 4 pilots in the nose with their finger up their butt! No excuses.
In addition- can you imagine what the poor souls went thru during those last 45 seconds? Don't think that they passed out from a major gravitational pull...they had 45 seconds of pure terror! God bless them all and R.I.P..
You know, this event "sucks" as well as "UPS", "Asiana", "Colgan", "SWA"!!!
What the hell is going on? No "ATP" license...no sleep...I'm scared to fly manually at SFO! Are you kidding me? No excuses for these disasters that took many lives and crippled many others! Let's revamp the training system... and make it universal. Let's look at duty times...look at who the. hell is qualified to fly the the bird! This is a global situation here and everyone has to be on the same page. Don't know what the answer is but as an aviator, something has to be done to prevent these situations from happening. Especially so often. There is a missing link here and it's not pretty.
