Sound like a nice place to avoid.

Jeez! They had all kinds of scams in the late '60's and early 70's that I thought were pretty imaginative and I see that they're still good at it. It's a shame you can't trust the people who are there to protect you! When I went back for a couple of weeks in 2000 I had that slight sense of dread the whole time I was there. Extortion is big business in the PI. Other than that, I enjoyed the trips immensely.
