For the price of a coast-to-coast ticket, I flew in one of these beautifully restored B-17's around the San Francisco Bay area. Worth every penny! What a wonderful job for a pilot today, probably not yet born when the 8th Air Force was flying missions over Europe, to take one aloft today. Boeing had designed an ingenious throttle design for the bomber, not seen before or since, I believe. A classic aircraft.
It's hard to see B-17's tail number. Is it the same?
