Douglas DC-7 (N836D)
This DC-7 is part of the Historical Flight Foundation, Miami, Florida. Takeoff was normal but during lift-off #3 engine began to smoke. Eye witnesses heard loud banging noises as it passed overhead and the #3 engine was shut down and feathered. See other photos. Captain Sully Sullenberger of "Miracle on the Hudson" fame brought this plane in earlier as part of a fund-raising effort with the Carolinas Aviation Museum at Charlotte, North Carolina USA
