Sam, that might be the same one as in my photo. Difficult to tell w/o the FAA registration or manufacturer's c/n. However, I have seen a photo of another Texan with a similar paint scheme and markings like this one you have shared.

I remember reading a old aviation magazine from late 70s and had a story about a Texan squadron in California that flew in Luftwaffe colors...if I find it ill have more information for you Cliff

Cliff, it's an article in the summer 83 issue of Air Progress Aviation Review.
It's about the condor squadron based at van nuys airport.

They had 6 painted in Luftwaffe colors JG-54 squadron, and a one painted in RAF markings

The condor squadron was also known as CAP squadron 135

The condor squadron had 48 members, 11 texans based at VNY, and 6 others scattered at Camarillo, Long Beach, and Compton.

Cliff... I have about 20 issues...love reading from the past... This issue has a Schneider seaplane racer on the cover
