It is impossible to tell when someone will pull out on the runway. I was about 1/4 mile from touchdown and a tween Beech was told to hold for landing traffic. The Beech continued on the runway and taxied down the runway. There was never any acknowledgement from the Beech. The tower began shouting on final go around, but I had already started the go around. Finally the Beech answered and blamed it on between frequencies on the radios. A complete PHUPA on the part of the BEECH but it really would not matter if I had landed anyway. There would have been no one left to ask what happened. You must always expect someone to pull on the runway. I have even had a tractor mowing grass do a 180 and just drive across the numbers causing another go around. It happens more that you think.

Ok there was no TFR over a power plant. Just a Plant in front of with massive cooling towers that looked like a power plane with a TFR over it. Unfortunately I could not land and check It out. Remember LOCAL TR come up at any time any time local authorities want to put one up and ATC doesn't always know about them. If you would like to fly over a power plant because there is NO TFR's, give it a shot. have a great day and let us know how it works out.

I have had a local TFR pop up 10 miles in front of me. Local TFR's can come up with out the FAA having the information in the system. The TFR that showed on my screen wasn't on the TRACON list. They had no knowledge and I flew around it after advising them of it being there. It was over a power plant.

PSP was much better at preventing FOD but in dry weather the dust would blow up and in wet weather they were slicker than SSSSSSSSSSSSS

Land at the wrong runway is dangerous and can result in loss of life. In Europe in the 70's when I flew there one event of this type would ground you for life. If there are two incidents there will be another and someone will run off the runway. I have been flying since 1970 and I hold the pilot in command responsible and have him accept the accountability for putting peoples lives at risk. NO sympathy from me on this issue. It won't make me popular but that is just sloppy airmanship. sorry now I can stand alone and everyone else can disagree but until freedom of speech is totally taken away that where I stand on wrong runway landings.

I had an autopilot that would fly me down also in bad weather. I always hand flew it down because one glitch that low to the ground gave no room for correction. You have to "BE" up to the apporach when you take it from "George"... the autopilot, and if you are hands off, the time it takes to get the "feel" again might be too late. 7 seconds is an eye blink in the dark at a runway on landing.

Guess we really don't need aviation after all. Lets do like Europe and tax General aviation out of existance and force rail service. We dont' mind waiting 2 weeks for an over night package and when someone is ill in your family they can wait 5 to 7 days for you to arrive. Who needs aircraft anyway. After all 100 yrs ago they did fine without them. BTW put the cell phones with the planes when the planes go,, we can go back to telegraph.

Someone in those planes is living right with an angle on their shoulder.
