Your reading comprehension skills seem to need some improvement. I merely posited that the USAF pilots must have thought the AA pilot's remarks were humorous.

Have a nice day.

Hmmm, what did Matthew spell incorrectly? Perhaps you do not understand word usage IF you're concerned about the word "posited". Look it up.

Have a nice day.

Out of the dialogue that was on the video, how did you assume that I agreed with the AA pilot? A leap of assumption on your part.

My spelling is fine, thank you.

Have a nice day.

Actually, your spelling is not. "posited"

Im sorry, do you actually have the idiotic notion that blindly following ANY leader is a good idea? Do you also feel that people don't have the right to say what is on their mind? Which he didn't really anyway - but I find your "shut up or you aren't a good soldier" comment insulting. People died for our rights to say what is on our minds!

Jason: just curious in whose comment is the quote that you reference? Wayne
captainjman
Jason Feldman 1
Hmmm, thats weird. The comment I made was supposed to be in response to someone - not all by itself. Someone inferred that you're a bad soldier if you dislike your commander in chief - or something like that. It is entirely possible that I pressed the wrong link but I thought I hit reply. Perhaps the original poster somehow removed his comment or the moderator did. Thanks for the question Wayne :)

Good day. I am picking up on this thread from South Africa, where we have an ongoing debate around the importance of being able to (1) criticize and (2) satirize or parody one's elected leaders. One sign of a mature and functional democracy is the realization that leaders are there to serve us and hence can be as much part of humour as any ordinary person. This video is a mild and smile-evoking bit of chance comedy and certainly should never trigger any more contentious debate. These are the truly valuable underpinnings of good democracies. (ps. nice filming!)

All around good post Jennifer. I'm sure I speak for the minority of us members when I say, welcome. Keep the videos coming and don't be afraid to post.

Thank you Captain! I do look forward to posting again in the future - and I will so my best to only post aviation videos that might be of interest to the broad group! :)

The American pilot asks "What is a VIP" tower explains very important person and American pilot says "we're more important than they are"

That was actually a pretty good video - the guy says it is poor quality in the description but it wasn't shakey or anything. I am surprised he was allowed to tape that close.
jenf777
Hey Daniel - thank you! actually, I was disappointed with the quality - just not my morning for filming, I was rushed. But I had to post the ATC! Still winder if that American pilot was just pulling the controller's leg! There are some great spotting locations around Boston Logan! Jen :)

It would seem that what started out as an intelligent, flight related topic and comment string, due to an item of sarcasm by a long term contributor, has degenerated into name calling and religious arguments, as well as I'm right/You're wrong posts and I am outa here
THRUSTT
THRUSTT 2
Preacherman, some things you can't be sarcastic about. Let's say someone joked about the holocaust, there would be an uproar on here. Racism is alive. I didn't vote for Obama, but I have to say that people aren't ready for a minority president.
They use the term present government, but we know damn well they mean Obama when they are critisizing.
As for the AA crew, that was pretty much an ignorant comment.
I'm sarcastic on here too, but not about race, religion, nationality.
Cut everyones skin, our blood is all red...

I disagree. I think Americans, in general, would not oppose a minority for any elected office if that candidate had views and ideas that are aligned with their own, and was a person of integrity, honesty, and character.

Can't we all just get along.....geesh....No one President is going to please everyone; respect the office and worship God....As we go through these uncertain times pray for "OUR" country instead of tearing each other down...Bush did some messed up stuff and so has our current president; as a matter of fact they all have so get over it.....oh yeah stop using religion to tear each other down; religion is often mistaken for tradition.

It may be that most ATP's and Commercial pilots have been there/done that and have been around long enough to see that his policies ain't working and don't have a lot of sympathy for those that don't want to work. I don't think that puts you with a party or not, just very conservative in your thinking. Pilot's Union doesn't seem to be embroiled in all the contoversy that some of the manufacturing groups are. I dunno for sure. Like everyone else here, just my opinion.

don't want to get in a big political discussion here, D vs R (i'm a registered Independent) but IMO the Republican push to eviscerate collective bargaining is gonna hurt the pilots' union as much as the firefighters, autoworkers or hospital workers.

don't understand how people can be so militantly against their own self interest, just sayin'
preacher1
preacher1 2
Well, ALPA is pretty widespread and touches everybody, and it's relationship has been fairly amicable with the Airlines as opposed to some of the others that are isolated to one particular company, and like I said, I dunno for sure but I think most are as you, Independent, rather than aligned with a party, and although the R's undoubtedly have some bad stuff, their thinking is probably more in line with the way these guys feel. Most are a little older and have paid their dues and don't have much sympathy for those that don't want to. Now, that's just like you, my thoughts, so I dunno if they are right or wrong.
Boatinman
Boatinman 1
The pilot's union is private sector. The collective bargaining argument is against public sector unions.
mikek123
How does "eviscerating" collective bargaining for government employees have anything to do with the pilots' union?

The plane is only important if the person inside is important to america. I would have to agree with the american pilots comment.
THRUSTT

They should have kept it to themselves, not put it on the radio. Notice how the controller remained professional, and I'm sure there were many other pilots at BOS who feels the same way about Obama, but didn't broadcast it on the freq.
