‘Sick’ Pilots Ground 75 Air Canada Flights

Air Canada was forced to cancel 75 flights on Friday 13 April after scores of its pilots called in sick. Cancelled flights were primarily to and from Toronto, the carrier’s main hub, and destinations in Canada and the US. Long-haul flights were not affected. (www.traveldailyasia.com) More...

Well, when you treat highly skilled employees like crap and pay them laughable wages you can't be all that surprised when their loyalty doesn't exactly match up to what you'd hoped for.

I'm actually amazed that this doesn't happen a lot more often in the airline industry.

It is not really a strike, it is more of a Safety Campaign... If they are not feeling their best, then it best not to work. It would be illegal for them to strike, but they must always work safe :) Strike is such a nasty word.
