This is really the first "green" aircraft. It has a low sound footprint and it burns its jet fuel judiciously. The overhead bins are large, even the windows are larger letting more natural light in. Even one of the lavs have a window the same size as the passengers. This is a model of where aviation should direct its energy. CONGRATULATIONS TO DELTA AIRLINES.

This could really be a game changer. We shall see why Boeing went to such lengths to squash this all new aircraft. Boeing must be awfully worried.

This is a great milestone. Not long ago it was believed that the only way Delta could take delivery of the C-Series would be from a FAL in Alabama (Delta said as much). Now we witness Delta taking delivery of the C-Series from Montreal which begs the question .. why does Bombardier/Airbus need to build a FAL in Alabama? Aside from the Delta order the only American order for the C-Series from the U.S. is from Jet Blue. Why does this justify building a FAL in the U.S.? Air Canada and Westjet buy far more jets from Boeing - should Boeing be required to set up a FAL in Canada?

That is an excellent idea, however Boeing is generally xenophobic about the assembly of their aircraft. They do out-source the 10s of thousands of parts are farmed out mainly to China.

Possibly the same reason that Boeing, or Airbus for that matter, have more than 1 FAL..and when this was decided upon, the US Government was on the verge of slapping almost 300% worth of tariffs onto the then CS100/CS300 sold stateside. Boeing dosn't need to build a FAL here because Canada isn't slapping their craft with high tariffs
