I am hoping that at least the families of those onboard, will now be able to start to find some closure.

Seems strange that it took this long to locate when they were getting debris after a day of two. They had a radar idea where it went down. There were three pingers on board the aircraft, but they did most of the search from the air. Now they have found the wreckage at very close to the end time of the locator beacons. Just interesting.....

I seem to recall it being said that the ship, who had the necessary deep sea search equipment onboard and discovered the wreckage, had to be dispatched from a distant port and it took a while to get to the area.
