well played Boeing well played.....now only if they could convince the FAA to let them do a low level pre-game fly-over that would be awesome.

That'd go over real well, a 47 on a low level in the world's most congested airspace. LOL

Bet you they won't do this over Denver when they win.LOL

tim mitchell 4
it's doable if they take-off or land at Newark

PhotoFinish 2
If they schedule the plane to land at Newark before/ during game, it will be visible from the stadium, as the approach to 22R/L goes right past the sports complex.

Maybe Boeing has another surprise planned. You know... an emergency cargo run to the East Coast.

Would be totally legit.

I've never seen a town as eaten up over football as Denver is. Talking down the Broncos was nearly a suicidal act.

If there's a request to do something as far out there, you can bet TRACON and Center will be trying to work a plan for it.

Good lord. Since when is 37 considered "old?" :-)
I know, in sports age...

Being born and raised in Den but living in Sea, I'm neutral as I win either way.
Though I never liked the Manning fools. Hawks deserve it...not neutral after all I suppose.

I did a takeoff from Runway 18 to show support for Peyton Manning. I don't have a 747-sized budget.

Since the Chargers beat the Manning brothers back to back, I have no doubt that the Seahawks, a stronger team in every way than San Diego, can take care of the Broncos (hint: the Denver team's name is not "Manning") without too much trouble.

Ol' Peyton better think again if he thinks any of that look-here look-there step-forward step-back mumbo-jumbo is gonna work against the Seahawks. All it means is he's getting old and scared. After he's been laid out a couple of times by the Seattle linebackers, maybe he'll remember how to play football.

But I doubt it.

If The Boeing Company were to support the home town guys, it'd be the Bears, not the Seahawks. I guess this was done by The Boeing Commercial Airplanes division :^)

The people at Boeing are like, we have a spare 747-8F, what do we do with it. Huuu... OH I KNOW, lets let the world know most of the people at Boeing are SeaHawks fans. Btw, GO DENVER!!!

The Seahawks parade is starting Real Soon Now through downtown Seattle, from the Space Needle to Century Link Field. Gonna last about 2 1/2 hours. BOE12 is supposed to do a flyover of the stadium, vaguely around 2-ish PST.

Noob question: what's the best way to see future flight plans? Via this site? Another app? I do have the flightaware app as well.

Some of us would like to hear the squawk on our scanner and snap some photos with one's new long lens from one's secret KBFI perch. :-)

I am ignorant, why 12?
robertcs
Casey, The 12 represents the Seahawk Fans, as the 12th Man on the field, where in American Football there are only 11 players on the field from each team during plays. If you do Facebook search Seattle Seahawks and you'll get the picture (no pun). Go Hawks!

It is so cold in New Jersey the Goodyear Blimp refuses to leave the hanger.

Manning & company looks good for trip home on the happy flight.

HangEr as you wrote with an E is that thing made of wire or plastic from which you hang your clothes when you place them inside the closet. HangAr with an A is the buildng where planes are sent to for maintenance, secure storage, etc. OK?

I know this is pretty much old news by now, but I discovered the flight on Flightaware.com while doing some other searching. What a great surprise when the "1" and "2" flight course lit up on the map in Eastern Washington. I was ecstatic and wanted to tell everyone about it. The plane was BOE12. She was flying at 12,000 feet at a multiple of 12 (180kts). What I didn't do was check the direction of flight to the north. Was it 012 degrees by any chance? It was like being back in the military when something exciting or extraordinary was going on. Go Boeing! Go Hawks!

Really? Six hours at xxxx dollars per hour to make a map picture? Was there some test flight value to this?

Of course it was a test flight. Data was gathered and systems tested necessary to complete the manufacture of the airplane. The course flown is of little significance to the flight, but it did prove the plane could execute a tightly specified pattern, and the staff had a little fun.

The ETA was extended at least twice, from 1455 to around 1605, then to around 1700 or so and then back. It appeared she was changing her ETA based on specific flight test goals. I thought I heard this was a maiden flight for this BOE12 and that flight testing was being carried on during the mission... but I've seen nothing specifically relating to flight testing.

Since the Broncos are going to win, starting midnight February 2nd, 2014 no Boeing aircraft, passenger, cargo, military, anything will be allowed within the confines of the fair state of Colorado, only Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier and even Antonovs of any shapes and sizes will land at KDEN and points west.
Bobqat

That's okay - the B-52s don't need to stop, just skirt the border to 'flight test' a few AGM-86 ALCMs... >;^}

It seems that you are not aware of the latest-latest ECM-CECM gizmos available East of the Atlantic that shield their commercial aircraft in such a manner that even if the (very old and graceful I should add) B-52s dare to shoot anything ........... will be sent back to themselves, really. (LIMAO). GO BRONCOS 23-10

Yeah, I had called Kennedy SPC and asked for reservations on anything flying away from mother earth for instance the ISSS or Mars or whatever but the next launch is several months away so here I am counting my marbles, UNTIL NEXT YEAR (LIMAO)

Boeing flies giant '12' in the sky with Seahawks-themed 747

The inspiration, of course, came from the Seahawks – who were set to square off just two days after the "12" test flight against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey on Sunday (Feb. 2). The National Football League squad is based in Seattle, where Boeing remains one of the region's largest employers.Boeing had flight testing it wanted to do with the aircraft, and the company's flight test team got creative in combining a regular test flight with some of the Super Bowl hype sweeping over Washington state.
