Typical goverent doublespeak. Make a law then give exemptions. Sounds a whole lot like our new healthcare law or social security for that matter. The arrogance never ends.

Yep, 1500 hrs ought to be 1500 hrs. Just in case anybody cared to check it, both Colgan pilots were ell above 1500 hrs. It just goes to show that hours aren't the answer. Look at training and rest. As far as this exemption, I thought a college degree exemption was already written in to the law as an exception. Why make another one?
