She is successfully campaigning for greater approval from the House, the Senate and the Congress ! No ? In terms of image as well as for bigger booty (funds) . Who knows ?
But is it serving the cause if investigation ? I wonder . Can she draw conclusions ? No. Is any body asking for daily briefing ? No. So why this hoola boo? Why this carnal desire for TV exposure ? Strong words , may be. But all this PR , a shear waste of public money and time.

I disagree Mr. Mittal. It was clear to me that her motive was to represent the people. I do not believe she has a personal agenda. Most of us know from experience they key factors that cause accidents like this. All those issues were addressed without prejudice. Ms Hersfeld is motivated to produce a "transparent" account to provide "the travelling public" with information that is in the interests of safety. I find your view prejudiced and as your comment "Why this carnal desire for tv exposure" I would be grateful if you could explain that comment further.
First all , please try to reach the underlying idea of my comment. I had expressed my concerns by saying " strong words " . So please do not be offended. It was a metaphor. I am more grown up than that. I still wonder what purpose these daily briefings are serving ? Since the earliest days of my professional life I have followed the path of transparency and demand the SAME from others, especially the public functionaries. How can she address safety concerns without knowing the causes ? Today, every one is thirsty for the Pilots' blood ! Let them loose on road, and some one will literally shoot them down. If I am right , should I be right ? Please give it a thought. I am sure that the cock pit crew is quarantined, under severe vigil. To protect them from outsiders as well as from them selves. Like an under trial of a serious/heinous crime.
Once again please over look the specific words. But I maintain my stand about the PR approach. I may prove to be ill informed, but please check , in the past how often has the NTSB held similar daily briefings , considering their VERY wide canvas / jurisdiction of operations. Accidents involving any thing that moves, barring birds, marine creatures and animals.

Airline accidents are always interesting for the public. The lady has not indicated that the crew is to blame. She laid the task out on the table and advised the measures her organisation was taking. Your comments insinuated that the exposition was "carnal". It is this statement that is disturbing.
I repeat, I clarified - a 'metaphor', beyond that I am helpless.
You are forgiven Sir. I cannot detect anything in the reports that sensationalise the events. The reports are logical and without prejudice. The aim is to reassure the public that accident events are properly and thoroughly investigated. Questions are invited and answered from representatives of the media. USA based airlines carry 2 million passengers a day. I would guess all of them are reassued by the way these press conferences conducted. Moreover I suggest that they have every confidence that their safety is assured. There can be no better way to further this aim than the method Ms Hersfeld uses.
So her objective is to make briefings 'interesting' for the public. Or say 'juicy' . Or say for their entertainment. A strange purpose to my mind .
