I'm surprised it took this long for a US carrier to fly these 777-300ER's - Boeing have been making them since 2004. Perhaps the -200ER's were more suited to the routes AA flies.

I though the 737 was the most successful 2-engine plane?

The 737 IS the most successful twin-engine plane, at least according to Boeing. "Overall, the entire 737 family is the best-selling commercial jet in history, with orders for nearly 10,500 airplanes through December 2012 from 265 customers. More than 7,400 have been delivered."

Does the new AA livery remind anyone else of Aeroflot's livery?
