Not a good look for Iran! They shoot down airliners don’t they, and they have not yet made restitution as far as I know?

Be careful with the credibility of this news agency. Reporting appears to be a publicity stunt.

I wanted to understand the situation more and followed the TAG link on the Islamic Republic News Agency article: https://en.irna.ir/tag/Boeing

VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Only four IRNA articles appeared:
(2) related to the current demand letter & contract with Boeing

(2) related to Boeing crash related to 'ENGINE FIRE'
-falsehoods reported when Iran military shoots down passenger jet leaving Tehran
-INCIDENT WITH UKRAINE INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES FLIGHT 752 ON 8 January 2020)

While not having read or seen the contract in question, I suspect part of the terms require Boeing to abide by USA laws, and in the event of a conflict between a US law and the law of any other country, US law prevails....
