DA42 Completes AutoLand For non-ILS G.A Airports

Researchers at a TUM in Munich have devised a system that uses a camera, advance GPS, and fly by wire to autoland DA 42 at facilities with no ground instrumentation such as ILS etc.. i don't get all hot and bothered over this- i handfly ifr single and multiengine aircraft, love the tactile responses to the inputs, and enjoy using my brain to integrate all the guages in front of me into stable flight. This may be some logical outgrowth of electronic systems, but it is the mind of a properly trained and confident pilot that makes safe flights and smooth landings, not some microsystem
