The back-to-front method proved to be the slowest method tested. It was noted that the fastest method (no assigned seats) ironically had the lowest satisfaction score, but there were also methods that much faster and much more satisfying (e.g. WILMA) than the back-to-front method. Well ya that’s true and usually the people upfront pay more for their tickets as well. Lol. But you said it best I would rather keep the nose heavy then risk damaging the tail when it struck the ground. Lol

I once observed a B727 without the ventral airstairs extended(assumed it was towed to the gate) started to go down by the tail while boarding. Unfortunately, the auto leveling on the bridge had been turned off and when the tail went down the bridge peeled 1L right off the hinges!
