Long Beach Airport Closed Due To Disabled Military Jet

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say Long Beach Airport is closed due to a disabled military jet on a runway. The airplane, a T38, became disabled on Runway 30 around 11:15 a.m. Friday. Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky2, reported in the CBS2 News at 5 p.m. that a second runway has been opened to alleviate some take offs and landings of commercial vehicles. That's ok the poster isn't an airplane person after calling an airplane operated in commerce a commercial VEHICAL.

Also love the brilliant post of who fly's T38 anymore, answer several do but most airplane people also know that.

There is no need to be so condescending. If you would have taken the time to read the article, you would see that it wasn't the original poster who called them "vehicles." Also, asking who flies a particular aircraft type is a legitimate question, as who flies what may not be general knowledge.

We have at least a dozen T38 at KAFW every day. Doing their cross country and IFR training. Mostly Air Force using them.
