Cockpit videos with a goPro camera

Submitted
Some of the flightaware users might know me as "the guys with all these photos"... I am trying to experiment with cockpit videos, using a GoPro camera. These videos should be somewhat "educational" but also just fun for the airchair flying... Your comments and suggestions are most welcome. Excellent videos. Extremely professional and serve as a great guide to doing things right. Please do more videos as opportunity allows.

Thanks for your kind words, Gordon.
These videos are not "staged", meaning that you will see also things that are not perfect.
It is important to constantly learn and improve performance.
Thanks for watching my videos and happy landings,
Guido

I like the call outs even though you are alone. As a private pilot I kind of do that, but now I see how I can do even more. Thanks.

I also have been a subscriber to your YouTube channel for a couple of months and really enjoy watching your videos! As a relatively novice pilot who is flight instructing to build time, I find your videos incredibly educational, especially those pertaining to CRM. The lessons taught in your videos have helped me mend some formerly bad habits while flying over the past couple of months. Thank you for taking the time to create and share these videos! They will certainly continue to make everyone who views them better pilots!

You are very welcome. I always share my 2 cents of knowledge with the aviation community. And I still learn a lot from my fellow pilot. Aviation is a constant learning and improvement process. If you do your "perfect" flight one day - it's time to retire...

I enjoyed the educational aspect of your video. I'm glad to see that during my private training I was taught to make many of the same callouts you did. Very professional.

Thanks for your video,
NolanMiddlemas
They should have a cockpit that streams whenever its in flight so you can see out the cockpit window in real time. Now that would be cool.
okguido
Guido Warnecke 1
Nolan, that would be great...

Knowing some of the pilots I know, I am not sure that would be a good thing... Just imagine, streaming the cockpit through the cabin, everyone on board watching and he blows an engine on take off.

I can imagine what the unions would say to that idea. Remember when they started putting them in squad cars?

Great video!

Mine a little different style on my weekend bird.. Check: http://youtu.be/-GSl-bNl_xk

Experimenting with several go pro's attached - different angles seem to add a little interest.

Started with the overhead cockpit view (with I really like): http://youtu.be/2xXP-O582yI

Then went to the multi-cam views as per previous post. Still a lot of fun to make and friends seem to enjoy them.

Thanks Ryan.
A cockpit is probably the smallest "office" you can work in.
You have to get along with the other pilots. This is essential for flight safety. And for your nerves...

Great video. If possible, lowering the height of the camera would afford a better pilot's eye view perspective thru the windscreen while still preserving the view of the cockpit area and panels.
okguido
Guido Warnecke 1
Roger, that is a problem, I am still working on. The brightness difference between outside and inside is huge. The GoPro camera copes well with this, but there is room for improvement.

Very nice! From an Avionics Tech view it is nice to see all of the equipment working airborne. Don't see the Auto zoom on the GTN during post installations checkouts. Mostly helicopter for me so it is good to see the other half!
Great Job!

Guido Warnecke 1
Pete, the GTN is a real blast. You should have seen the cockpit of the B100 before the makeover.
