Airplane forced to make emergency landing after bird in engine

Submitted
DAYTONA BEACH -- A bird forces a small plane to make an emergency landing Saturday. A hawk got caught in the engine of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk at about 8:20 p.m. The pilot was trying to make it to Ormond Beach municipal airport but smoke started filling the cockpit so the plane had to land at Daytona Beach International airport. Investigators told News 13 the plane belongs to a flight school, but they did not say which one. No one was hurt. (www.cfnews13.com) More...
