"That was the biggest hit the Dolphins had all night," one commenter noted.

Miami Dolphins Charter Plane Clips Tail of American Jet in Dallas

While clipping is a 15 yard penalty in the NFL, in the airline biz it often costs someone their job.

Ground Damage... Pretty Common... that is what you get when you hire cheap labor. When they had Mechanics doing push backs you never heard of this kind of damage... But now, the ground ops people are not nearly as careful. It is a trend that is going to continue to happen.

That's BS, back in the 80's I worked for CO at EWR. We weren't mechanics, and myself and the rest in my zone never banged an airplane.
How bout those mechanics doing ground runs with the squat switch disabled, taking out the terminal??? Blame the individual, not the group...

All that I am saying is that there is MORE ground damage now with Rampers that their were when Mechanics were doing the Pushbacks. It still happened, but not nearly as often.

Heh - I bet Dan Snyder will pay off a few ground crews at BWI, DCA, and IAD just to keep the first team the 'Skins beat in town so they can have a decent home record.

Matt, your article gave good details. Much better than the Flightaware artilce.

What type equipment was this? I hate to read an article that gives no info except two aircraft touched at DFW. When I read an article, I want, who, what, when, where, why, and how. Very easy to say, if the types are correct: a Embraer 170 clipped a 744due to pushback error. It occurred Thursday morning.

I'm a stickler for details and brevity. I small paragraph could have given the whole story, every detail.

Well, if you read the article and didn't get worked up, you would see thyat FA's link said it was a 76 and an 80...

Seems to me the FA article had as much if not more info in it as the other one.
