More Needles In Your Food, This Time They Were Found On Air Canada, Last Time It Was Delta
Aviation and law enforcement are investigating yet another incident of needles being found in food served to passengers while in-flight. The latest comes from Air Canada on a flight from Victoria, British Columbia to Toronto. Just last month six needles were found in food on board Delta flights from Amsterdam... Since it was only one passenger i have to wonder if this is legit or just a hoax.
Probably a good question. Could be copycat but it could be some sicko job hopping, albeit having to make an overseas jaunt. Or as you say, just somebody wanting attention
A co-ordinated attack on Delta? We use the internet for GOOD...a lot use it for BAD.

Well, I was just going to mention that.lol. I guess you put your glasses on.lol. As far as the near miss, somebody in the tower screwed up. It was all over the National news here. Seems they were making a routine runway change on account of WX but somebody forgot about that US AIR already cleared on inbound final. They caught it in time, probably close, and it didn't say if cockpit alerted with TCAS or not. Might not have mattered though. To take evasive action in congested airspace, you might get in more trouble than you were in. I don't think anything came closer than 1 1/2 miles but that ain't much at speed and it threw the inbound tight on fuel.

News did say ATC gave him a quick 180 though, which I took to mean that they kept him on the same runway. Bottom line was though, and this is where the screwup was, that he had already been cleared and they should have got him down before making the change, but they forgot about him for whatever reason. Makes a good case for a pilot to be listening to all ATC that he can and maintain situational awareness. In listening to the ATC excerpts on the news this morning,it sounded like he knew something wasn't quite right.
Well I don't want to be seen as sucking up to you Wayne BUT that is why guys like you get the 4 bars and seniority. We might be kinda OLD but we do grasp the essentials faster than the kids. Ahem...
Well, you gonna give us all the big head. They wouldn't fly unless you guys kept 'em fixed. It's nice to sit down in the seat and everything work. I had a young'un one time gonna ground our bird for about 3-4 days after we got home to fix a problem. The old man came around, took one look and said BS; a squeeze of locktite and a pair of pliers, and in about 5 minutes, we were ready to go again.lol
Retired now but I see it as my vocation to bring up the morale of the engineers and the pay structures to a least 3 bars in company seniority. I am especially keen that they challenge the MBAs as to why certain things are the way the are. They are dome a certain way for a reason and not always for a union rule.
I know the feeling but what is going to happen when all us old heads are gone. There will be those that did learn from us and they will mange for awhile but in a generation or 2 it won't be fun for them, with nobody to fall back on and theywon't have enough of their own devices to handle things.
