Lessor repossesses bankrupt Avianca Brazil’s A320s

Avianca Brazil has been forced to make more flight cancellations after lessor Aircastle reclaimed all 10 of its Airbus A320-200s on lease to the carrier, cutting the insolvent operator's fleet by 30%. Aircastle confirmed April 16 that it has repossessed the 10 A320s and will place them with another operator. (atwonline.com) More...

Avianca should have been gone long ago. Instead they merge with TACA (to save themselves) and draw them down also.

Avianca Colombia, and Avianca TACA/Lacsa are profitable. There is/was too much established competition from already established airlines in Brazil, and to the United States from the United states.
