that must have been exciting!most people do not think of bird strikes as a hazard, but then again, most people seem to forget we share the skies with all sizes and shapes of birds..i have heard of some airports that use devices and loud noise to "scare" off flocks of migrating birds at various times of the year, and also in locations close to bird sanctuaries..

Lest we forget: "On January 15, 2019 Flight 1549 on its way from New York City's LaGuardia Airport to Charlotte, North Carolina, struck a flock of geese, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in the icy Hudson River."

Statement made by that whatever web site is far from correct and does not state how bad a bird strike can be. Makes it sound like oh heck just went thru a flock of birds a little rough out of one engine good to go.

Well actually, bird strikes are a very low risk event. https://simpleflying.com/bird-strikes-danger/

I'm not sure you want to use "simplefying" as your source for anything related to aviation.

You are misunderstanding the article and the statistics. The fact is, bird strikes are rare, engine bird strikes are rarer, and double engine bird-strikes are even rarer still. But one actually happened here, so we are talking about a different conditional probability, the probability of serious safety threat GIVEN a double-engine bird strike just occurred. And that probability is way too high to treat as a casual event.
