Pegasus Boeing 737-800 at Trabzon on Jan 13th 2018, overran runway

A Pegasus Boeing 737-800, registration TC-CPF performing flight PC-8622 from Ankara to Trabzon (Turkey) with 162 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Trabzon's runway 11 at 23:26L (20:26Z) but overran the runway, went down a slope and came to a stop on soft ground just short of the sea. Amazing that nobody was seriously injured. On the pics, the left engine is partially embedded in soft soil on the cliffside and the right engine is gone. (I think that may be it in the water). It seems that's what kept the aircraft from sliding all the way to the sea.

Let me guess that 737 is likely totaled... unless it is a rather new 737 then they might fix the right wing and keep it flying...

It reminds me of the incident a few years ago when BNSF derailed a train of fuselages from Wichita down an embankment along a river. Boeing scrapped the three fuselages.

Boeing will defiantly scrap those because who will buy a "new" car that already had an accident?
But you will be surprised how much damage a plane can sustain before they total it.
However I guss the missing right engine prabably meansthe right wing spar is done. Thus beyound economical repear...
