Small Aircraft Damaged Attempting to Land

Submitted
Today, at around noon, a small aircraft was damaged as it tried to land on a road parallel to the runway at Boulder Municipal Airport. It struck a car and then a utility pole that removed the right wing. The pilot managed to get the plane into the field, where these photos were taken. At this time, the pilot is unaccounted for, but assumed to be uninjured. The person in the car is also uninjured. The photos and the story are exclusive to Flight Aware! (flightaware.com) More...

Sorry, it removed the LEFT wing... not the right one.

Evidently, the pilot ran away from the scene after landing. The police and rescue were looking for him, but at the time of my post they had not found him.

Now the pilot says he will meet investigators back at the site within the hour. Witnesses say he took off running from the plane with a black satchel... I wonder what was in that bag?!?

This is such a weird story. Sounds like the guy is pretty agile at 67. I bet the bag contained the Tablet of Ahkmenrah!
