Brings back a few memories to LGA AND IDL. I began work in August 1956 at LGA and transfered to IDL in MID-1957. Our terminal was the Quonset Hut type Building. Yes,they were the good ol'days to visit the Observation Decks without a badge or Security checks.
Thanks for the memories. Joe.

I remember my 1st flight as a kid about 9, in 1958, on Braniff, a convair of some type, from LIT, MEM, BNA,TYS,DCA, then finally into Idlewild in the middle of the night. Wore slap out. Mom had originally booke AA from LIT to STL and then Idlewild direct but the gov't travel office had other ideas.lol

From 1965 to 1980 I lived about five miles from the threshold of 13 L at JFK. There's a lot of memories getting stirred up by these pics.

I thought I was a bit nuts always taking pictures of aircraft . I worked 1968 until for Faf then Ual. The saddest day I remember is seeing TWA's jet blown apartb( cockpit ) in Las Vegas.

I reall wished I'd have taken some pics in early years, as much plane watching as we used to do when I was a kid. Most were props of various types, and I remember the biggest thrill of my young life was at FSA and dad knowing sombody at the Airport that took us inside a Central Airlines DC3 that was at the Airport that night, cockpit and all.

Amazing photos!!! Thanks so much for posting this.
I flew EA L1011s in and out of LGA on occasion. I always
worried about those 7000' runways and not ending up
in the water!

Beautiful shots and commentary. I grew up close by JFK and still live nearby. Seen these in the air going back 50 years +.
