A Delta Airlines flight from New York City to Tampa made a rough landing Saturday night when its main landing gear doors scraped against the runway, airport officials said.
Flight 2391 landed safely at 10:35 p.m., and none of the 147 passengers on board were injured, TIA spokesperson Janet Zink said.
The MD88 aircraft was towed to a gate, and runway 19R was shut down while crews removed debris and inspectors verified the runway was not damaged.
According to Delta's website, the MD88 can accommodate 149 passengers and has a cruising speed of nearly 500 mph.
The flight originated from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
