Had to divert into KAEJ and Tad was there to help me every step of the way. Started off by getting on the UNICOM and advising me of the previous two aircraft that had some pretty rough attempts and finally landings because of the extremely strong and variable winds which ended up helping me land. Brought out a bowl of water for my co-pilot (Gunner-1 year old collie-lab) after he pulled the courtesy car up to the hanger where he put the plane in. Gave me his personal number to make sure that I was ready to go for an early departure. Excellent service and clean facility all around. I won't hesitate for a second if I ever have to divert into KAEJ again just because of the service we received.
Had a great time. The airport staff were very helpful, especially Jill and Todd. Thank you.
Saint Elmo, is a ghost town that is especially interesting. You can rent a jeep and go through the town and neighboring mine sites, up in the mountains.
