Very nice, comfortable ride from LAX to MSP in 1973. I had no idea then how this airliner is related to B-707; nor how important it was to Western Air Lines. I learned much of Western Airlines history at Flight Path Museum, south side of LAX on Imperial Hwy past the end of 105 (Century or Glenn Anderson) freeway. No offramp required. Just 105 to the west end.

@BigAl, good info there! The 720 was intended to improve short field performance with a different wing from the 707 and fill in until the 727 could come into service. Cheers!!
