I remember sitting at the approach end of runway 19 at Eglin AFB back in '66-67 and watching these giants come lumbering in for a landing. On windy days, it was an added thrill to watch how much they swayed around on short final and wondering if they were going to make it.

Had a buddy who was a tail gunner on one. That dates me. Lived at the end of the runway at Robins AFB. When SAC would get an alert my wife and I would have to guard the cabinets to keep the dishes in them!

I rolled off the assembly line in 1959.
The BUFF might look better than me, but I'll bet that it's had more parts replaced than I have!
