My most interesting moment flying in a DC-3 was in 1977 in Venezuela. I was part of a tour to Angels Falls and we flew down to the falls in a similar DC-3 like this one with the rec tangled windows along each side. The plane flew into the falls area and flew back and forth so each side of the plane could few the falls. Then the plane landed on a road and we had lunch for several hours. then we all flew back to Caracas. Never forget that flight...

There is an old derelict DC-3 on one of the small islands near E. Timor, Indonesia. Locals are trying to make it into the main feature of a park they envision. I only visited there once in the mid '80's. Most of the instruments are gone. It is a very impressive sight sitting there in the middle of nowhere, on its landing gear, far from any runways.

Actually a C-47. The DC-3 is the civil version. The military version C-47 has the astrodome behind the cockpit and the recessed tail cone to allow gliders to be hooked up to it.

Thanks for the perfectly timed flyover at Lake Columbia, MI just as fireworks show finished.
