FAIRCHILD HILLER FH-227 (VH-TQP)
Wynyard, Tasmania, November 1974. Again Fokker not Fairchaild and this is an F27-600QC.
Comments
Chris, if you see this, notice the object on the far left.
Exactly Gavin. And you would not see that nowadays. This is a nice shot of TQP. I think this Trans Australia livery really complimented the F27 and also their DC9's.
From '74? Excellent Q photo. And I never have understood why "Fairchild Hiller" appears when "F27" is entered. Fairchild built the FH-227 under license from Fokker, not the other way around. So when F27 is entered, Fokker should appear.
Thanks Chris.
Thanks Gary - yeah, it's annoying that Fairchild Hiller is the only option as there's a very large number of genuine Fokker photos on FA all incorrectly labelled.
the FA database is in need of an enima
Classic OZ Gman - this sure is a 5 Star Fokker snap!
Another great classic image, Gavin1 Yes, I was once like one of those kids peering with excitement at the airplane on the other side of the fence. It brings back memories. Anyway, I see FA is up to their misnaming of aircraft again.
Thank you Tom and Dwight...and Dwight - weren't we all. Oh hang on, STILL ARE!!
