F-5 Tigers of the VFC-13 "Fighting Saints" are sharing ramp space with F-5s from the VFC-111 "Sundowners" (NAS Key West ... KNQX) and the result is a wide variety of camo paint schemes shown here in this panoramic view of Tiger Tail Alley on the NAWDC ramp adjacent to Hangar 3 at NAS Fallon yesterday. Fourteen "Sundowners" aircraft, displaced by Hurricane Irma from their base on Boca Chica Key, were temporarily relocated to KNFL until they can be brought back home to Key West.

This panoramic photo consists of three individual pictures combined into one composite photograph. Ten Tigers are viewable in this shot, but there were many more next to, and behind, me. Until last month, there were eighteen F-5s in the VFC-111 fleet; however, one was lost several weeks ago in a crash into the water not far from Key West. (* The pilot was safely rescued. *) Of the seventeen others, three are not currently at Fallon but I do not know where they are located.

Thnx, Greg. Greg, Cliff, Mark, Uwe >> Large file headed your way. Five photos combined into a long panoramic of the entire NAWDC ramp at KNFL. Snapped from the tower visible on the left side of this picture. Almost 50 military metalbirds shown (F/A-18s, E/A-18s, F-16s, an E-2 Hawkeye, a Seahawk, and F-5s with eight different camo paint schemes). The original file is quite large so I'll reduce it to email-appropriate size (quality will only be slightly degraded). Mail within next 48 hours. (Wave)
