— — - Pilot/owner Gary Norton standing on the wing, this was his 2nd P51D, his first was named "One Mans Pleasure" and it burned up in a hangar fire a couple years prior. Mr. Norton was the man behind the big aviation museum at Silverwood, I got a private tour of the museum from a mechanic employed there in approximately 86. All I can remember was they had an airworthy Curtiss Robin and the floor was very nice and warm, lol.br /br /I shot this in approximately 1981 on slide film at an airshow. This is merely a DSLR photo of an Echtacrome slide I processed myself roughly 35 years ago when I was probably still in High School. The airport was last known as 21D4, "Silverwood" on the northern outskirts of Coeur d Alene Idaho (KCOE). At the time this shot was taken I believe it was known as Henley Aerodrome. There is no longer an airport there, its an amusement park now.
