This 1977 Cessna 402B ditched and sank in deep water following an engine failure Jan. 5, 2022. The flight originated in Opa Locka, FL and ditched about 3km west of Chub Kay, Bahamas. The accident happened in daylight (0845L) and in VMC. The US Coast Guard transported the 2 occupants to the US to receive treatment for their injuries. The aircraft is not expected to be recovered.
