Great photo! Interesting paint job. Canadian 150year anniversary. Does any one know if this was a single plane or part of a team?

Single plane that does the air show circuit, etc https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/news/2017/04/royal_canadian_airforceunveilsthe2017canada150cf-18demonstration.html

Nice shot! Actually the designator is CF-18A.

What a paint job! Love it! Perfect positioning in the photo.

In one picture the pilot is holding an American flag. Why?
STEVEN CORNISH
Great shot !! I would be interested to know how you got this shot as you are higher than the CF-18A.
I once got a similar shot from the observation deck of CN Tower in Toronto.

I copied this photo for my desktop collection the last time it was on FlightAware, and it is still a great photo and one of my favorites. Thank you for the photo.

From the description on the American flag photo: To applause and waves from the crowd, Royal Canadian Air Force Captain Matthew Kutryk (RCAF Demonstration Team, 4 Wing, CFB Cold Lake) displays the US flag as a tribute to the citizens of the United States and to the friendship between Canada and the United States as he taxies his CF-18 Hornet (188734), painted in the "Red Maple" special livery in recognition of Canada's 150th Anniversary of Confederation, to a parking location on the ramp of Minden-Tahoe Airport (Douglas County Airport ... KMEV) after having completed the last performance of the Demo Team's 2017 season. Capt Kutryk's fabulous exhibition of flying skill and F-18 maneuverability was one of the highlight performances at the Aviation Roundup Airshow in Minden.

@Steven Cornish: Looks like the photo was taken from below as the plane was conducting a banking turn.
